Short Course PR Racing SC-201 Rear Motor Transmission Box

Original replacement transmission case in Rear Motor (RM) position, valid for PR-Racing SC201 chassis.

This part replaces the original one included in the SC201 chassis mounting kit.

When should we replace the rear transmission case of the PR-Racing SC201 chassis?

There are generally two problems that can require replacing the rear transmission case of the SC201 chassis. One of them is breakage. A hard impact, a bad landing after a jump, bearing directly on the rear axle, can cause the two projections of the transmission case, on which the two upper wishbones of the rear suspension rest (one on each side), to break.

The other cause could be wear and tear. From repeatedly opening and closing the gearbox for cleaning and maintenance of our SC201 chassis, we might encounter problems with the threads where we insert the bolts that secure the gearbox to the chassis, or with the bolts used to close the gearbox itself. Additionally, inside the gearbox, also due to wear, we might have excessive play between the transmission components, specifically between the differential and the gears and pinions that comprise it. In that case, once we verify that the differential housings or the shafts on which the gears rest have indeed developed too much play, the best solution is to replace the entire gearbox and restore the original, precise adjustment.

Obviously, if we want to change the motor position of the SC201 chassis, switching from RM to MM, we'll also have to change the gearbox. The original kit includes both gearboxes, for mounting both motor positions.
