Short Course PR Racing SC-201 Slipper Pads (2u)

Original replacement pads (skidders) for the PR-Racing SC-201 slipper . Two units supplied.

These panels or pads for the Slipper mechanism are identical to the original ones included in the PR-Racing Short Course SC201 kit.

When should we use these replacement pads on the PR-Racing SC-201 chassis?

You should be aware that this Short Course SC201 chassis is rear-wheel drive. Furthermore, the competition version uses a mechanical differential with planetary and satellite gears in the rear axle, making the slipper mechanism extremely important, and therefore essential to keep it in good working order and properly adjusted.

The slipper clutch basically works like a clutch. We can tighten or loosen it, and this will affect the traction of the rear wheels, which are the ones that transmit the power from the engine to the ground.

When accelerating in a rear-wheel-drive car, especially on slippery surfaces (dirt, etc.), a slight jerk, like a whiplash, can occur, causing the rear wheels to lose traction. To prevent this, adjust the slipper clutch by loosening it until you feel the car slip slightly. This will significantly smooth the engine's power delivery through the transmission, allowing for much better control of the chassis during hard acceleration.

The slipper uses two pads to control slippage. If overtightened, the pads won't slide, and if the slipper is loosened using an adjusting nut, the pads slide on the main sprocket, absorbing throttle blips or excess power. The slipper system on this chassis, the PR-Racing SC201, is often referred to as a dual system, since it uses two pads, one on each side of the sprocket.

It is obvious that these pads wear out, so we will have to replace them when they no longer perform their function correctly in the Slipper system.
