KO Propo Foam for steering wheel EX-1 and EXII KIY

Genuine replacement foam steering wheel for KO Propo EX-1FHSS/ASF and EX-II transmitters and all their versions. This foam is mounted on the steering wheel used to operate the steering (channel 1) of your RC car.

Recommended for transmitters with the KIY system, namely: KO Propo EX-1 FHSS and ASF, as well as the EX-II in Standard, Select Pack I and Select Pack II versions. This foam can also be used to replace the original foam of the 3D Extension and Steering Drop, both modules compatible with all KO Propo transmitters with the KIY system, which are sold separately.

Please note, we cannot use this steering wheel foam on the KO Propo EX-1ur or the EX-RR, as both transmitters use steering wheels of a smaller diameter, and therefore the foam must also be of a smaller diameter.

How does the foam in the steering wheel affect an RC transmitter?

Obviously, the foam we use to make the steering wheel of an RC transmitter more comfortable to grip must have a diameter that matches the dimensions of the plastic or aluminum wheel it's mounted on. This way, the foam won't be too tight or too loose.

Using a standard-sized steering wheel along with the corresponding foam, we will have a lot of progressiveness and smoothness in the control of channel 1 of our RC car, the channel in charge of turning right/left.

The foam grip on RC steering wheels should allow your fingers to easily make contact with the plastic wheel. Therefore, it must have a soft yet firm feel, because if the foam is too soft or worn, it will develop a memory effect and become deformed by the shape of your fingers.

Can we change the steering wheel on our KO Propo transmitter?

Of course, the steering wheels of the various transmitters manufactured by KO Propo use the same mounting system, so they are interchangeable. Each KO Propo transmitter is designed with very specific characteristics, and the steering wheel size is one of them.

As you know, KO Propo transmitters are characterized by their excellent ergonomics and customization options. Therefore, one of the adjustments we can make to adapt the transmitter to our piloting preferences is the size of the steering wheel and its corresponding foam grip.
