Set of 10 0.7mm thick washers, manufactured in plastic, for adjusting the caster of the front axle.
These washers are identical to those included in the original chassis of the Atomic BZ2107.
¿What do we get with these 0.7mm calibrated washers on the BZ2107 chassis?
Inserting two of these washers to each of the two upper front suspension axes, we will get 4 degrees, 2 degrees or 0 degrees of caster front.
We understand by caster or angle of direction or advance, the angle that form the vertical direction of rotation with the horizontal of the ground.
It is clear that changes in the caster setting also directly affect the address response. To adjust the caster in the front, what we will do is equalize or delay the upper trapeze with respect to the lower, and for this we will use the washers included in this kit, as well as like the upper trapezoids (which can be mounted in two positions, face up or face down).
On page 6 of the assembly manual of the BZ2017 you have the graphic explaining the assembly of the trapezoids and washers.
It is important that when you make adjustments or do maintenance on the BZ2017 chassis, you make sure that these small plastic washers are in good condition. It can be that when working constantly rubbing on the upper trapezius, they wear out or become deformed, which would leave the upper trapeze with too much slack. In that case we must replace them with new washers, which fit better.
